e-ink is the perfect computing technology:

  • battery life measured in weeks, not days

  • perfect viewing from every angle

  • implies simple user experience

  • kinda cheap

  • easy to wield for developers

e-ink isn't quick: you can't just scroll, usage is more intentional, more focused.

My favorite e-ink computers:

  • Remarkable Paper Pro Move: digital handwritten note-taking machine, powered by a neat color-enabled screen.

  • Kobo Sage: 8" of crystal-clear, backlit, color temperature-configurable reading bliss.

  • Kindle Voyage: old friend, now repurposed as a smart frame.

  • XTEINK X3: new hackable friend, small enough to bring with me everywhere I go.
